In order to allow children to gain the maximum benefit from their time in school, parents are asked to ensure that they attend school regularly. If children do not do this their education will be seriously affected in spite of the efforts of their teachers. When a child has to have unavoidable time off school such as to keep medical appointments, his/her parents should ensure that the child attends school for the rest of the day. If your child is absent from school for any reason, please contact the school and leave a message with the school secretary. If possible send a note with your child on his/her return to school. Please note that prolonged periods of absence such as extended holidays can seriously harm your child's educational progress. However, if you still intend to take your child abroad for an extended period will you please inform the Head Teacher in writing. To assist with the child's continuing education during such an absence, school can offer a work pack. The Local Education Authority will enforce vigorously the laws which require parents to ensure that their children attend school regularly. Thank You to all of those parents who send their children to school on a regular basis and on time.
